Holly Hunter, an American actress and film producer is renowned for her roles in movies such as Broadcast News The Firm The Piano The Incredibles. The film Piano earned her an Oscar. Actresses have an extensive history of working on Broadway, Off-Broadway and other initiatives. As a child, Helen Keller was her favourite character in a fifth year play. Mumps led her to lose hearing in one her ears, but this did not stop her from following her dreams. As a young woman she was a drama student in the college level and then moved to New York City from Pittsburgh so that she could pursue her ambitions. Through a random encounter, she became trapped in an elevator along with writer Beth Henley and the two collaborated in the play 'The Broadway Crimes of the Heart and made Hunter's debut. When she moved to Los Angeles, she began to look for film roles. The role she was offered came as an actress who played the leading character Swing Shift. Holly Hunter has been in numerous movies, television shows as well as movies throughout the span of a 30-year career. Holly Hunter was awarded a Hollywood Walk of Fame Star and the Women in Film Lucy Award.
